【摘要】:Inmanysituationswherechemicalsareinteractingwithotherchemicalsormaterials,theinteractionisstronglydependentandoftencorrelatedwiththefunctionalgroup(s)present.Theseinteractionsincludechemicalreaction,dissolution,andswelling/permeationofpolymericmaterials.Forthisreason,itisusefultohaveastandardmeansforclassifyingchemicals.Oneapplicationforthisclassificationsystemisintheselectionofchemicalprotectiveclothingbasedonthechemicalresistanceoftheclothingmaterials.,,Chemicalresistancedataareavailableforonlyaverysmallfractionofthechemicalsforwhichprotectiveclothingisused.However,forchemicalsforwhichnodataareavailable,aknowledgeofthechemicalclasssometimescangiveinsightintotheresistanceofaprospectiveclothingmaterial.Note18212;Thepresentstateofknowledgeprecludesreliableestimatesfromchemicalclassalone.Theclassificationsystemalsofacilitatesthedevelopmentofpredictivemethodologybyresearchersinavarietyoffields,inadditiontoprotectiveclothing.1.1Thisstandardprovidesaclassificationsystemforchemicalcompoundswherebychemicalsareassigneda3-digitcodebasedprimarilyonchemicalclass.Poly-functionalcompoundsshouldbeclassifiedbyallapplicablecodenumbersassociatedwiththeircomponentfunctionalgroups.
